Couples Counseling

Couples Relationships can sometimes experience challenges, and when that happens Couples Counseling can help teach each partner how to better cope, heal, and strengthen their relationship. Whether you and your partner are experiencing communication issues, healing from infidelity, experience constant arguing, or other relationship struggles, I am here and would love to help.

Structure of sessions:

First session is an intake session, where all three of us would meet to discuss the challenges your relationship is facing, gather information about the history, and identify the strengths of your relationship. During the subsequent two sessions, I would meet individually with each partner. During these individual sessions you will each of the opportunity to speak with me privately and explore your thoughts and feelings in depth. After these individual sessions we will continue meeting together.

In my treatment of couples I employ Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) and The Gottman Method. I tailor therapy to fit each couple’s needs and learning styles.

If one partner is leaning out of the relationship, Discernment Counseling would be a better fit.

Therapy is offered in-office or online, sessions either 50 minutes or 90 minutes. I do not bill insurance for couples counseling sessions, but a superbill can be provided for you to submit to insurance for possible reimbursement.

Through years of providing couples counseling, I found that a 50 minutes session may not be enough for each partner to be heard and for progress to be made. 90 minute sessions give us time to fully address concerns, learn new ways of communication and interaction, and highlight strengths.
